Problem

Marketplace workflows become credible when payments, conversation, and notification state agree.

Contribution

Designed the core schema, integrated Stripe, built ActionCable chat and notifications, delivered the responsive interface, and deployed the Rails application to Heroku.

Result

Shipped the core marketplace data model and the communication and payment capabilities required for an end-to-end workflow.

Decision spotlight

The choice behind the implementation.

Challenge
Payments, conversation, notifications, and job state had to remain coherent across one user workflow.
Decision
Keep the core marketplace capabilities inside a cohesive Rails product boundary with integrated real-time delivery.
Trade-off
The application favors coordinated delivery over premature service separation, reducing distributed consistency work at this stage.

The product boundary

The marketplace needed more than isolated job listings. Candidate and employer actions had to remain coherent across structured data, payment state, real-time conversation, and notifications.

What I delivered

  • Designed the schema supporting the core marketplace features.
  • Integrated Stripe payment workflows.
  • Built real-time chat using ActionCable.
  • Added notification delivery through the application framework.
  • Built a responsive interface and deployed the application to Heroku.

The useful unit of delivery was the complete user workflow, not an isolated screen or endpoint.

Public boundary

The public boundary is deliberate.

Product and client identities, customer data, repositories, and confidential implementation details are intentionally omitted. The page describes only confirmed personal contribution and safe technical context.
